When in Japan...Eat!

Hello all Foodies! In this week's post, I'll be talking about the amazing food in Japan! These are some of my favorite restaurants/cafes in each city I went to and some tips about some of them:

Shinjuku:

1) Gyuubei in Mylord Shopping Mall: This is the best place to try wagyu! If you go before 3:00PM, they have wagyu sampler sets along with some other meat choices they sell for a cheaper price. The price for the wagyu set is around $20, so it is a reasonable place to eat wagyu in Japan!

2) Gongcha in Mylord Shopping Mall: This was my #1 favorite spot to study in Japan! I always got the Mango Tea Ade with Nata De Coco and studied at one of their tables! Note: The WiFi is sometimes slow, but they have chargers at the counter tables.

3) HARBS in Lumine EST Mall: This restaurant has a cafe-type feel! They are famous for their assortment of cakes, but I also recommend their Tomato Mozzarella Pasta (plus if you go during lunch hours, they have a special set meal)!

4) Gyukatsu: There are a lot of branches for this restaurant, but I found that this one was the least busy! Gyukatsu is the famous beef katsu restaurant where you can grill your own meat. It is so delicious, and you will definitely want to eat here all the time! (I went more than 10 times taking around all my friends and visiting family!)

Shin Okubo:

1) Miyori: This Korean BBQ restaurant was one of my favorites! I went here multiple times to get the cold noodles, pork belly, kimchi stews, tteokbokki, and more!

2) Popo Hotteok: This Korean pancake sweet is sold at one of the food vendors, and it was so delicious! It ws both crunchy and chewy!

3) Studio Maru Cafe: This cafe had such cute desserts! My favorite were their box cakes and their cloud smoothies, and were especially pretty for taking pictures!

4) Seoul Cafe: My friends and I always went here to get their bingsu shaved ice! The shaved ice was more creamy and was cut into thin strips like noodles! They also had cakes, teas, and waffles. One of the good things about this cafe is that it's open late!

5) Caesar Cafe: For all k-pop fans, this cafe is super fun! If you order a hot drink, you can choose which k-pop idol/group you want as the mug design! They also had delicious cakes to pair with your drink! This cafe was also good for studying, as they have free WiFi!

Takadanobaba:

1) Kura Sushi: This restaurant is the best if you want sushi for cheap! This is one of the famous conveyer belt sushi places! Note: Kura sushi can sometimes get very busy, but it's still cheap!

Harajuku:

1) Reissue Cafe: This cafe is famous for their latte art! You can pick your drink then show the waiter a picture of the person/character you want for the design! They also have meals for lunch and dinner, but my favorite was the spicy curry!

2) Bio Ojiyan Cafe: This cafe is really cute and has great food! It's a nice place to relax and eat with your friends. My favorite dish from here was the natty salad, which had natty, tofu, okra, tororo, and more! The cream soda from here was also the best!

Hiyoshi:

1) Juju Okonomiyaki: This okonomiyaki restaurant is right outside Keio's Hiyoshi Dorm! I ate here many times because of the delicious food and the friendly owner! The owner of this restaurant is a 92-year old man, and he loves to add new customers' pictures to his photo album of all his visitors! The food is so delicious, and he even lets you make your own okonomiyaki sometimes!

Iidabashi:

1) Tsujihan Kagurazaka Branch: This restaurant is famous for their seafood rice bowls. They have 4 different types, and depending on which one, there are different additions of seafood! This place is usually very busy, but I found that this branch is a hidden gem (especially if you go on a weekday at around 2:00PM or later)!
